  • Teaching Kids to Talk With Tech

    Thank you so much for your generous support for our students! Thanks to you, our students are able to access more opportunities for communication. One student was able to receive a dedicated device to use to request attention and to be taken to the bathroom, allowing her greater independence in getting her needs met! Another was given a device to be able to request "more", allowing her to learn that technology can help her make a request. Finally, another student is going to receive the 4-button device to help him learn to expand his vocabulary and to impact his environment by using words like stop and go.”

  • Powering Our Voices

    Thank you so much for your generous donations to this project! Because of you, our students never have to worry about not being able to charge their devices!

    Our students rely on technology to be able to communicate their needs. They use high-tech dynamic display systems, like iPads or tablets, that are pre-loaded with special communication apps. These apps enable the students to request the things they want and/or need, comment on what's going on around them, engage in social situations, and ask questions in class.

    Unfortunately, these apps also require a lot of battery power. Cables are fragile and easily break or go missing. But now, thanks to you, we never have to worry about waiting for a replacement! Students have a dedicated place to charge their device with cables dedicated specifically to them.”

  • Keeping Our Voices Charged

    Thank you so much for helping our project!

    My students are currently using the device charging centers to ensure they have access to their speech devices. My students rely on their devices (iPads, etc.) to be able to clearly communicate their wants and needs. Before we received these chargers, students were having their devices die during the school day, leaving them unable to communicate. Now, they can communicate with us all day long!

    We have been able to work on additional life skills with these students, such as learning about what a low battery looks like and when and how to change their devices.
