Having a marine aquarium in our classroom is not only going to provide my students at school the opportunity to open their curiosity and learning experience about animals, but my students at home via ZOOM will get to make observations as well. We are currently learning about animals, ecosystems, and life cycles in our classroom. Having this aquarium will enhance our learning about how animals co-depend on each other, such as biotic and abiotic things. My virtual learners at home due to COVID always miss our outdoor activities and nature walks that my students at school get to do. We are only able to share with them orally what we observe, and what we learn about the outdoors. This aquarium will allow my students at home to observe each day via our Zoom class to observe the animal characteristics, their life cycles, how they all depend on each other to live, and what our tank all requires to sustain the life of each living creature. All the way down to the live rock. My students are very excited about learning about animals and plants this whole unit and we are getting more in debt with our lessons. Many of them have not gone anywhere and we are not allowed to have field trips, so this is the best way to help take my students under the sea and experience learning about these animals. This will also help them become responsible for caring for the animals, feeding them, and showing compassion for all living life.
