As a first year teacher, this year was rough. I did not know what to expect and what I needed to help my students. Most of the time I had to use my own money to get the resources we needed because we are one of the poorest schools in our district. I feel like all of these items on my list will help me to be a better teacher and give the students a better way of learning. The science models and posters will give the students the opportunity to be hands on in their learning. Videos and lectures can only reach a small percentage of students. When students can physically feel and move pieces around, they have a better chance of remembering and with-holding information longer. Some of these items will be used for athletics. I need the dots to show students where they need to be at certain times. When footwork is practiced enough, it will become muscle memory. I hope you can help me and my students out by purchasing some of our items. It would mean the world to me!
