Expanding Horizons and Soaring Beyond Expectations
Funded Aug 26, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donation. It has really impacted the lives of my students. Due to your kindness we were able to update our classroom and our classroom library and create a reading section for our students. We were able to purchase new bookshelves and a variety of reading materials that are geared more towards our students' interests. Students check out books and read more than they have prior to the update of our library. It truly is a wonderful thing to see.
We appreciate you all and want to thank you for changing the lives of our students one donation at a time.”

The Road To Success Is Always Under Construction!
Funded Apr 13, 2023On behalf of our students I would like to say thank you for donating to our project. Thank you for contributing to a project that has truly transformed the lives of our students. This generosity fulfilled a project that has allowed our school to open a school store. Our school store is run by members of our student body, the products sold inside the story are created by our students and sold to those same students and their parents. As a result of this store our students have been able to unleash their creative side by designing t-shirts and putting those creations into products that are sold. Students who are awarded buzzbucks for perfect attendance, going above and beyond to help others, and displaying what it truly means to soar, have the ability to use buzzbucks in our school store to purchase items. Your donation has truly made a lasting impact on our school and we could not be more appreciative to have received it.”

Funded Jun 26, 2023Every day as more and more students trickle through the doors of my classroom I hear the following comments, "I love your new desks," or "these new desks are awesome." Our students are so appreciative of the change in classroom furniture. It has gone above and beyond regarding their productivity and the creation of a cozy classroom. Fellow employees have even raved over the change in furniture and how nice they are.
These desks provide our students with more space in the classroom and ensure their materials are accessible. It has also allowed the classroom to be more organized and functional. Thank you all so much for helping my students have a place that they love to come to every day, a place where they can be happy and feel safe while receiving an education.”

Funded Nov 14, 2022On behalf of my students, I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for making our dream of creating a classroom library a reality. These materials will assist in fostering creativity and the continued development of literacy. Our students will gain exposure to new worlds, writing styles and genres with these materials. When my students were told this project had been funded and we would be receiving a variety of books for them to utilize during class they were excited.
My students are so pleased to have books to read in their free time. Earlier I allowed them the choice of deciding what we would do today – they could either continue working in Microsoft Excel or they could select one of the many new books provided by you, generous donors. They chose to spend their time reading. One young lady had never read the Hunger Games and by the end of class she was asking if she could continue reading it when time permitted.
In the future, I plan to have students pick out one of the books and read it. Then they will either create an advertisement for said book to try and sway their peers to read the chosen book. I believe the love of reading is the greatest gift you can give someone and I hope that by the end of their time in my class several of my current students will not only improve upon their literary skills but will grow to love reading.”

Funded Dec 29, 2022There are no words adequate enough to imply how thankful and grateful we truly are for your donations which helped make this project a reality. Last semester, after seeing a TikTok from a fellow teacher, I elected to have a mental health day in my classroom. This involved activities where my students could take time to decompress and simply put away the stressors of the day and enjoy being a kid again for a brief moment in their day. At the end of the day several students commented that it was much needed and they appreciated it, that they believed adults did not realize that even kids experience stressful events and need a moment to themselves. This is how the idea to create a safe space/Zen room from the storage closet in my classroom came to be.
Upon returning from Christmas break, I informed my students that our project was fully funded and the materials were in transit. They were excited and loved every item that was purchased. My students love how the storage closet has been transformed into a Zen room/safe space and have been excited to use it over the last few days. I have had several students sit in there to read and several who have just asked to sit in there and enjoy the calm atmosphere. A majority of my students have stated "it feels so calming in here" and "it's so relaxing to sit in here."
Our Zen room is currently used by my students if they are feeling overwhelmed or having a hard day. They will approach me during class and request to sit in the room to relax for several minutes before rejoining the class and completing their work for the day. Other students pull books from our classroom library and prefer to sit in the chairs and listen to the fountain as they read their selected books. Students who choose to read are able to do so after their classwork is completed for the day.”

Due to your contribution our students were able to set-up their mock kitchen and prepare a variety of dishes ranging from breakfast to lunch/dinner. We have transformed our film club and our digital media class as a result and more and more students are interested in learning both cooking and digital media production. On behalf of my students, thank you for changing their lives and for making a difference.”

Funded Jul 20, 2021Thank you so much for you generous contribution to our Business Education classroom. Words cannot convey the impact your donation has had in changing the lives of our students. With your donation, we were able to purchase a new LG Monitor which has proven essential in the success our students are displaying while learning to use Adobe Photoshop and the Microsoft Office Suite. We were also able to purchase several new chairs for our classroom to replace the few that were beyond repair, ensuring our students are comfortable while performing their daily activities.
Our students were most excited to discover that the materials were donated, as this is a first for them. They were very grateful and truly blown away by such an act. We come from an area that is predominately Native American and in the past Cherokee Nation has assisted several other schools with funding new equipment however we have not been as fortunate until recently, so this was an unexpected but appreciated surprise for our students. It truly meant a lot to them to discover that there were people they didn't know who cared about their education.
Our students who have struggled with vision problems in the past have found tremendous use of this new technology as it allows them to magnify their workspace without missing integral parts of the lesson, the up to date monitor quality allows them to view their graphics and content in a higher definition than previously allowed. The update to our seating and input devices has also provided more ergonomically sound keyboards and chairs to ensure our students are comfortable while staring at their desktops for extended periods of time.
Once again, thank you so much for your donation. It has truly changed the outlook of our students to know that there is someone out there who cares.”
With gratitude,
Ms. James
