Having access to Chromebooks will help my students become more self sufficient. The district offers Google Read and Write to my students but we often don't have access to Chromebooks in the school because other students are using them. We are a new charter school so we don't always have the funds needed to purchase more. My students would like to use speech-to-text on the Chromebook so that they can complete assigned written projects. They so badly want to be independent and not have to have an adult supporting them in the classroom. This would help guide them toward independence. They also could use the Chromebook to write down their math answers and watch assigned educational videos to support them with classroom assignments.
