Thank you for supporting my project and helping me get basic supplies for the new school year! Every year, supplies such as folders, dry erase markers, and construction paper are essential to our every day.

The folders included in this project have been the most impactful amongst my students. I am teaching them to be organized and keeping all their work for my class in one place. In just the 3 weeks since school started, they have all been keeping their folder organized and in their backpack for class everyday!

  • New Semester Books

    Funded Jan 11, 2023

Both novels have been enjoyed by my students this year! Having a classroom set is impactful because each student is able to follow along and immerse themselves into a good book.

My previous 6th grade students that read Esperanza Rising were able to connect with the characters. Especially as Esperanza faces loss, hardships, and resilience. It is a great read and cover very important topics such as perseverance. Students especially enjoyed The Hunger Games novel. They studied what dystopian societies look like, and were especially hooked after watching the trailer for the movies!

Thank you for supporting my classroom!”

  • New Classroom Headsets for Independent Learning

    Funded Aug 7, 2023

I was very excited to have this project funded to get a classroom set of headphones. I knew they would be an essential item in our classroom - as they serve to help students access a various of learning materials through a computer. So far, I have seen it being used for text-to-speech features and watching educational videos.

To an even greater extent, my students have even been able to use the headphones to relax and listen to music. Often, calming music will help them relax and reset for the remainder of the school day. Last year, my students had to share their headphones - which resulted in many getting ruined and/or broken. So I'm excited for this new project!”

  • Classroom Essentials!

    Funded Jul 24, 2022

I appreciate the support and your generosity in having this project funded! I created this project with my students in mind; especially with supplies that I know we would need in the new school year. My students were especially excited to receive new markers to highlight passages and key ideas in a text. A major focus in a middle school English class is being able to annotate a text, find key details, and citing textual evidence. With the use of new markers, students found themselves excited and engaged in annotating their text. The use of Sharpie markers was also a helpful addition to the classroom this year, especially during art class. Students were able to use the new Sharpies to outline their drawing to make it look more precise. They have become more responsible and take care of our new supplies.”

  • Exploring Literary Genres!

    Funded Feb 20, 2022

I am filled with gratitude with our classroom's amazing donors! The impact of having funded this project was exciting for myself and all of my students. This book in my opinion, is so impactful to read in middle school. Not only does it provide a challenging read for students, for many, their first novel, but it also allows student's imagination to flow with the amazing storytelling told by Rick Riordan. The characters within the novel are so unique, interesting, and complex. Students find themselves excited to continue reading to find out what happens next - as each chapter is suspenseful and full of action. Students are able to gain knowledge on Greek mythology and Greek Gods - and how it plays a huge role within the series. They find themselves wanting to learn more and doing their own research in the classroom. What a great read; one that is memorable and will stick with students for a lifetime as it did with me.”
