  • Special Needs Classroom Needs Organization

    Funded Jan 1, 2025

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom! When our students first saw the new organizational materials, they were beyond excited. These resources have given them the opportunity to access classroom tools independently, helping to build confidence and self-reliance. The individualized task bags have been especially beneficial, allowing students to keep their work organized while developing a sense of ownership over their learning. Seeing their pride grow as they realize their own capabilities has been truly inspiring.

For our students with special needs, these resources have made a significant impact. Many of them are now recognizing that they can do much more than they initially believed. The organizational system has also been incredibly helpful for students with feeding tubes, as it keeps all their supplies in one place, making feedings smoother and more efficient. These small but meaningful changes have made our daily routines more seamless and have given students the structure they need to thrive.

Thanks to your generosity, our classroom is more organized, functional, and empowering for our students. We are so grateful for your support in creating an environment where all students can succeed!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Thorn

  • Heartfelt Helpers

    Funded Feb 13, 2025

On behalf of our students and staff, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support in sponsoring our Heartfelt Helpers program. Your generosity is helping create an incredible opportunity for our students with special needs to engage in meaningful community service projects.

This program will not only allow our students to give back to their community but also foster valuable life skills, teamwork, and a sense of purpose. The students are beyond excited to begin our monthly projects, and your sponsorship makes it all possible.

Your kindness and commitment to making a difference in the lives of our students mean the world to us. We look forward to sharing updates on the impact of this program and the joy it brings to both our students and the community.

Once again, thank you for your support. We truly appreciate your partnership in making this program a success!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Thorn

  • Lighting the Way to Learning for Special Needs Students

    Funded Apr 9, 2021

My students have been so excited to use the new light table!! The giggles and smiles lit up the room!! At this time we have just begun to explore all that this light table has to offer my students. The multi-sensory learning benefits are just amazing. They have enjoyed watching the colors change, commented on what the new color is, and used different play items to explore their world. For some of my students the 3 way mirror is fascinating. Not only can they see their own reflection several times but they love to watch as they move the sensory beads around on the table. Future plans are to add sand to practice writing names, letters and numbers. With the building blocks the students enjoy creating new things and watching the light shine through. I am constantly amazed at all of the new ways they come up with to use common items in the room. I hope that you enjoy some of the pictures of the students using the table.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Thorn

Multi-sensory learning is a great way for students to develop. Children in my classroom benefit from learning in different ways. Students with special needs love to do hands-on activities. Imagine being a 4 year old and coming into a classroom where there is a really cool table that lights up in different colors. Their task for today is to use their finger to write their name in the sand so that the light comes through. This is only one way we could use this table. Children learn best through play!
