Free voluntary reading (FVR) is a well-known benefit for younger students learning to read. These educational resources will allow for those same benefits to occur for high school students in a new language (Spanish). As Stephen Krashen, a renounded linguistics researcher, says, "There is massive evidence that self-selected reading, or reading what you want to read, is responsible for most of our literacy development. Readers have better reading ability, know more vocabulary, write better, spell better, and have better control of complex grammatical constructions." These resources will be used for this purpose of assisting in acquisition through interest-led reading.
