Now that students are returning to school we do not have enough table space for all students to work at team tables. Due to COVID only 4 students can sit at each table (an "H shield" is at each table dividing it in 4 shielded spots) making us 2 tables short for all students to be included in team work. Social Emotional Learning(SEL) is a must in our class as we are an inclusion class (kids with special needs as well as general education students are all together in class). In order to help with SEL, students sitting at teams instead of desks is the most beneficial. In addition, I have found that students working as a team on schoolwork and collaborating together allows students to learn, retain, and progress on their school work in a much more positive and cohesive way.
