My students are in a K-2 moderate/severe special day class. We are located in San Francisco. Many of my students are native Spanish speakers and the school we are in is a Spanish immersion school We try to do a lot of mainstreaming with the general education, age-appropriate classrooms throughout the day to provide access to the curriculum. We modify the materials for them to meet them at their ability and interest level, while working on their IEP goals. Our students range in cognitive ability from 6 months old to grade level. Many of them require a great deal of 1:1 time and individual instruction.
