  • Bouncing into 2nd Grade

    Thank you so much for donating to this project which has allotted my second grade students the opportunity to be more mobile during learning, rather than sitting completely still all day long.

    I have noticed a decrease in behaviors at tables that seems to be directly correlated with their ability to now focus their extra energy on bouncing.

    They were so excited when they watched me open the package and explain what these were and how we would be utilizing them in the classroom. They were even more excited when they received them for the bottom of their chairs.

    I will continue trying to come up with innovative ways to incorporate movement and excitement in my classroom, in order for the students to have the most valuable experience.”

  • Read, Write, and Fidget

    Thank you so much for your gracious donation toward our 2nd grade classroom materials. The students were so incredibly excited to receive these packages in our classroom and couldn't wait to put them to use.

    I have created a "fidget bucket" which students are able to access anytime they are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, which has really contributed to fewer behavioral issues needed to be addressed throughout the day.

    Also, the highlighter bookmarks have really been beneficial for all students, especially those who struggle with reading and have difficulty going back in their book to work on comprehension.

    We will continue to put these materials to good use throughout the year. Again, a huge thank you for your contribution to these kiddos!”

  • Lap Desks Are the Best Desks!

    Funded May 7, 2021

    Once we received our new classroom lap desks last year, we were so excited that we decided to try them out the very first day! The students were so amazed as I pulled these fun desks out of the box, and were very eager to find out how and when we were going to use them.

    We had a vocabulary test to take and it just so happened that it was a beautiful, sunny day out, so we each grabbed a lap desk with our test paper and headed for the grass. The students absolutely loved getting to be outside in the fresh air while getting their work done.

    I have already used them this year with my new group of 2nd graders. They are extremely helpful during our reading intervention period for us all to get on the floor and read with each other.

Please help my students get up and moving around the classroom. With quarantine, most students have been stuck in their desks with masks on their faces and not being able to move about the classroom. With these lap desks, students will have the opportunity to take their learning not only to different areas in the classroom but also outdoors when the weather permits to get some work done and take that ever so needed mask break! Students will also be able to use these desks for our science experiments that require outdoor participation.

About my class
