In our library, the manga section has not been updated in several years. Replacing lost or damaged copies has become a necessity to keep series complete; buying new volumes have been put on the back burner. Manga, or Japanese graphic novels, provides students a much needed escape from the trials of the real world in the times of COVID. Updating this section in the library with new Manga titles will help with relieving stress in a healthy and conscious manner which in turn allows students to be more successful. Benefits of manga allow students/patrons to enjoy reading that is both visually and intellectually appealing. Even in the adolescent years, Manga helps reluctant readers to have something in their hand that isn't overwhelming. Manga can provide confidence in those readers.
