Educational Games and Seating for Our Deaf Ed Classroom
Funded Oct 2, 2023I can't describe all of my students faces when the boxes of donations started arriving. The padded chair seats are a bright addition to our reading area, and they make sitting on the floor so comfortable.
The students were very excited to see all of the new educational games come in. Every day they ask to play these new file folder games. They think they are playing games but really they are practicing essential reading and math skills.
Thank you so much for taking the time to invest in my students and classroom!”

Mrs. Milzarek

Funded Sep 18, 2019I can't begin to tell you what type of impact these new materials are for my students.
They are learning how to follow directions, read recipes, use kitchen equipment, and so much more while learning important living skills for their future. They get so excited when I arrive with food. They pick out their apron and automatically feel so important.
I never have a problem getting the kids to participate. They each get a turn on every step of the recipes. They had a blast learning how to crack an egg. Let's just say I am glad they had aprons on! Hands on learning is so much more effective than any worksheet or video I could give them.Thank you for investing in these students' futures!”

Technology in a Deaf Ed Classroom
Funded Dec 9, 2011I wanted to inform you that our class LOVES our new iPad! It has many uses in our classroom - to practice our reading and language arts skills, to read books, to play word games on, use as a smartboard, to look up pictures and other research on the Internet, and I can go on and on.. It is such a great resource and I hope one day every classroom can use them in class. The students are usually on their best behavior when I pull the iPad out because they know they might be called to use it. Thank you again for your support!”

Reading in a Deaf Ed Classroom
Funded Apr 1, 2011We just received our new books yesterday and the students were so excited to open the box! We now have added a variety of new chapter books and picture books (fiction and nonfiction) to our classroom library. Thank you so much for considering our classroom project for your donation! These books will be used everyday during independent and guided reading time. Exposure to new books gets my students so excited to read and they love knowing that some one cares about them and their education. Thank you again!”

Reading in a Deaf Ed. Classroom
Funded Mar 25, 2011I cannot express my gratitude enough to thank you for your support of my students and classroom. I teach students who are at all different reading levels, and finding materials to benefit all of them is quite difficult. Your donations support my project of ordering all different genres of books to teach them how to read. I wouldn't have been able to get these resources without your help. Now they will be able to enjoy the wonderful world of reading through the classics, humor, mysteries, and history books that you have wonderfully given tho them. Thank you again!”

Mrs. Milzarek

Funded Jan 27, 2011We recently received your gifts of the ipod touch and the Amazon Kindle for our reading classroom. The students were so excited when they saw the items! I have downloaded some great educational games on the ipod already. One game has them practice building correct sentences based on a picture they are shown. Another game has them practice building questions. It is such a great educational tool that the students love! I have also downloaded a few free books to the Kindle already so the students are reading new material already. I truly appreciate your kindness in donating to the cause of helping my students learn to read. Thank you again!”
