• Learning Concrete Concepts While Playing with Blocks

  Thank you for your donation and for providing more creative play opportunities for my students. As soon as I opened the boxes, the students went right into exploring the new toys. The block play area is now an area all the children visit at some point of the day.

  I have noticed more conversations, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem solving in the block area. Students are collaboratively playing, engaged in more elaborate conversation and are coming up with great ideas, improvising, and revisiting problems to find solutions.

• End of the Year Celebration!

  The end of the year celebration was a hit! The event started with the children greeting their parents with a sing along. The children also took pictures with their families and friends at different photo booths.

  The children along with their families participated with many art and game activities. They also had the oportunity to particiate in gross motor activies while using scooters and tricycles. By far, the bounce house was their favorite.

  It was so nice to see the joy on the kids' faces. We were so elated to see all 45 families participate in this special event. Seeing children happy is one of the best feelings in the world. We are so thankful for your generosity. Thank you for making this event so memorable for the parents, students, and the staff at First Avenue School.

  We look forward to planning many more exciting activities next year! Enjoy the rest of your summer!”

• Staying Cool and Warm

  Funded Jan 25, 2023

  We are so appreciative for your generosity!!

  The portable unit is functioning nicely! We have been staying warm all winter long. We also anticipate keeping cool as the weather gets warmer.

  I have also noticed fewer sick children this season. I only hope as we near allergy season that the unit will help improve allergy symptoms. I hope you continue to bless many more teachers, students and schools that are in need. This was definitely a great surprise!!

  My students have been enjoying the materials we received. It helps learning and writing letters so much more fun. They have all expressed excitement about "Writing Without Tears."

  Parents have expressed that my students are enjoying the songs, materials and are more excited to do practice work at home. Parents have also noted some improvement with identifying, sorting and writing letters in their child's first and last names.

  I have many colleagues that have expressed interest in implementing "Writing Without Tears" in their classrooms here at First Avenue School. Thank you again for your contribution!”

• Seat Pockets for Pre-K

  Funded Mar 23, 2021

  We are so grateful for your donation which has been allocated for my in- person students as they returned to school. My students were so excited to have a place to store all their personal belongings. They like to keep their work folders, journals and writing tools in the seat pocket.

  It allows my students to have easy access of materials throughout the day. It also prevents clutter on their work surface and makes clean up a breeze.

  I plan to also use the seat pockets for the upcoming school year.
