While meeting with students individually and in small groups I use talk, play and art therapy. I continually try to implement creative strategies to help tame their beautifully over-active brains. Most helping professionals have noticed, due to the impacts of COVID-19, a significant increase in social and emotional challenges. I strive to keep students interested and focused on discovering their strengths, successes, and strategies to emotionally de-escalate. Having balance balls, wobble chairs, and fidget games and and creative toys in my office will assist me in making huge strides towards helping to support elementary school children.
