Express Your Feelings
Funded Dec 29, 2023My students were very excited to use the fabric-feeling faces. During a lesson on how to express angry feelings appropriately, the students used fabric-feeling faces to show how they feel and look when they are angry. Using the fabric feeling-faces the students were able to talk about their angry feelings in a safe manner. After talking about their angry feelings, we were able to discuss healthy ways to express their angry feelings properly.
My students also enjoyed playing the Emption-oes game. The students enjoyed matching up the feelings and face cards. Once the students matched the cards, they would describe a time they felt that feeling.”

Regulating Feelings
Funded Dec 1, 2021Thanks to you, the students I work with are learning about their feelings and finding healthy ways to communicate and cope with those feelings. My students are learning that all feelings are normal. Through the items you helped me to purchase, they're learning to put their feelings between 4 colored zones (red- angry/overjoyed/scared, blue- sad/bored/tired/sick, green- happy/focused/calm/proud & yellow- worried/frustrated/ silly/excited). Through this program my students are also understanding how their behaviors influence their thoughts & feelings.”

Funded Nov 26, 2021Thank you so much for allowing me to use technology to teach the students on my caseload projected SEL lessons. I'm now able to project SEL lessons on a wall in my office which enable the students to better understand the lessons I'm teaching them. I'm able to show them videos on guided meditation to show them steps they can take in class if they feel uncomfortable emotions. During Black History month, I was able to show my students a story about Rosa Parks. We were then able to talk about how they thought Mrs. Parks felt during those trying times and how she was able to stay calm in the midst of trying times. Thank you again.”

Funded Aug 24, 2021I want to thank each and everyone of you for supporting this project. My students love all of the toys that you helped to purchase. As a clinician I was concerned about how my students in grades Pre-K through 5th would handle transitioning back to in person learning.
When the students enter my room for their scheduled counseling sessions or for crisis management they are drawn to the toys. Students are allowed to play with the toys while we are discussing their feelings. Many children feel more at ease to discuss their feelings while playing with toys. They love playing with the sand and using the sand molds. They love using the Emotions Lego to show express their feelings.”

Emotionally Healthy Students
Funded May 10, 2021Most of my students struggle to express their emotions in a healthy manner. When they become angry and or frustrated they don't have the coping skills to express their angry feelings appropriately. The kids Ioved A Little Spot of Anger book the most. If you look at the pictures I posted you will see how the kids were able to copy the five fingers calm down angry hand. The book taught them to count to 5 and by the time they get to 5 their angry feelings will have moved from angry (the color red) to calm (the color green). The kids were able to copy the picture of the fingers to take with them to use in their classroom and home.”
