My students this year have come to school not really knowing how to "play school". They have so many emotions and trauma present in their lives and have not learned how to deal with it all. The classroom calm down corner I hope to create will be stocked with fidget toys, timers, thinking putty, breathing exercises and coloring books. This space will be set up for the students as a place of peace. A place where they can refocus their emotions and recenter their thoughts so that they can join in learning again and be successful in the classroom.

About my class
