  • Fresh Supplies to Start the School Year!

    Funded Sep 28, 2022

Thank you so much for helping fund these items for my classroom. Early learning materials are so important for prek students to help them be successful in school. Thank you for your support of education and of teachers! We appreciate you and your help more than you will ever know!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Valerie

  • A Colorful, Fun, Inviting Learning Space!

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to my project. My free choice centers look so much more inviting now that I have the colorful bins to hold the items. The bins are sturdy so that the little hands of my students can easily move them on and off the shelves. I have bought several items from TeachersPayTeachers with my gift card to use in the classroom. My students absolutely love the subscription to the scholastic magazine "My Big World". We utilize the digital portion as well as the print version. They get very excited when they find out it's scholastic day!

Thank you for supporting my students and my classroom. I appreciate your support more than you will ever know!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Valerie

  • Building a Classroom Library

    Funded Apr 12, 2021

Thank you so much for supporting my project to begin building a classroom library. The materials were not delivered in time for my students last year to benefit from them but I had them ready to go for this year's class. This year my students are enjoying a morning library time where they are able to choose books to look at after breakfast and prior to beginning our day. I have also added a "book selector" to my job list. This student chooses our read aloud book each day during morning circle time. Thanks to your generosity, our book selector has many options and we only need to read the same book if the students love it and choose it!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Valerie

Having a large assortment of books to look at and listen to is very important in a prek classroom. This is my first year in this classroom and unfortunately, the teacher before me left only a few appropriate books. Many of the books are either board books, which are too young for my students. Or easy readers, which are too advanced for my students. I am trying to begin building a library for my students to choose books from. We are a Title I school which means a large part of our school community is low income. Many of my students have said no one reads to them at home, so our classroom is their exposure to literacy.
