We have to do things such as the water cycle. In the past, the students have done simple drawings to demonstrate this. With the iPad, we can use built-in features to provide a more compelling narrative. By covering the earth science standard 5-ESS2-1, the students will be able to use all the features in garage band for the sound effects, as well as all the simple tools in Keynote to create an animation that starts with the rainfall and works it way back up into the cloud. This is also effective for English language arts as students learn that you don't clutter up a presentation with text, but you put graphics in there to attract an audience.
