Magnetic letters are used most every day in my classroom. Students first use them to identify the letters and sounds. As they progress, they begin to use them to manipulate sounds, build words and make sentences. The letters are easy for them to touch and handle with their small hands. As they work, I can easily see what they are doing. It becomes a problem when students have to share the letters among them in order to complete their work, especially with COVID. By having enough magnetic letters, students will be able to avoid this and focus on learning. By donating to our project, you will help engage students at a high level that will grow them as readers, which will increase their academic achievement through multiple subjects. Students will be able to just focus on the manipulatives and work and not worry about sharing or if they have enough of the right letters to build their words. If they are able to work without interruption, their creativity flows, and they begin to build words on their own and their desire to learn escalates!
