As students begin to return to the school building after a year of virtual or hybrid learning, I hope to create a classroom environment for them that is welcoming, engaging, and comfortable. Middle schoolers need movement, choice, and activity to help them learn best; flexible seating helps to provide those things through how they interact with their surroundings and each other. The tables will be used for collaborative group work, while the standing desks will provide students with an opportunity to stretch and move while they work or read. This will be especially important while adjusting to the long days in school after the hybrid/virtual year. The stools will provide students with choice so that they can sit at our counters or use them with the standing desks. Thank you for considering a donation to my project and our classroom!
