  • STEM Using Arduino

    Funded Jul 21, 2024

Students are very excited to use the Arduinos. The Arduinos give students the ability to complete hands on projects using coding. Hands on learning is very important for learners, and it is something that students do not get enough of in this school. Seeing the smiles and concentration on their faces is priceless.

Thank you so much for giving my students this opportunity. I teach about 300 students, so your donation is helping many students. Because it was kits that were purchased, there are a wide variety of ideas students can explore - for instance, using LEDs to make light up designs, creating buzzers, and even make simple weather stations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gallo

This classroom project was brought to life by General Motors and 2 other donors.
  • STEM with Arduino

    Funded Apr 1, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to my project! Students love hands on projects and they get excited to see that they have made something happen physically with code. The combination of using Arduinos and buzzers gives them a better understanding of how many items in our modern world work. You have helped many students become future engineers.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gallo

  • Arduino Starter Kit

    Funded Dec 16, 2023

Thank you so much for donating in order for my classes to get the Arduino starter kits. The kits provide the hardware needed for students to complete various STEM projects. We have done one project so far. Students coded a program and used the starter kits to run a series of LED lights in a sequence of their choosing.

My students really enjoyed this project. It was great to see some students who are not usually motivated to get excited about it. They are really looking forward to using the kits again for different projects.

I teach over 250 students, so this was beneficial to many children. In addition, the other technology teacher will be able to use the materials with his students amounting to a total of over 500 students being able to complete projects. Thanks again!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gallo

This classroom project was brought to life by A family that cares about Boston and one other donor.
  • Engineering and Data Visualization Learning With Arduino

    Funded Oct 29, 2023

Students will begin to use the Arduinos shortly. At the moment we are waiting for our Arduino Starter Kits which contain led lights, resistors, and all sorts of other items needed to complete projects.

I have shown the Arduinos to students and have explained what we will be doing with them. They are very excited to get started on them.

I wish that the kits had come in before the thank you was due, but there is nothing any of us can do about that.

Thanks again for making a difference in students' lives!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gallo

This classroom project was brought to life by Young Sheldon on CBS and 3 other donors.
  • Students Standing Up

    Funded Mar 12, 2021

Several of my students are utilizing the stand up desks that you helped to fund. It is great for them to get a break from sitting. Students with ADHD are finding them particularly helpful because they have more opportunity to move while they are working, so they stay more focused.

Since then, other teachers are looking into getting them because students in my class are saying how much they like them. In fact, an assistant principal at a different school came to look at them, so word about their effectiveness has spread.

Because they are adjustable all students are able to utilize them. I have about 200 students, so many, many students can take advantage of them at different times. Thank you so much for funding this project and making a positive impact!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gallo

Middle school students need to move. Students will be coming back to school in a hybrid mode at the end of this month. With six, 60 minute classes a day, my students will be spending too much time sitting. Stand up desks would give students an opportunity to work standing up for the remainder of this year and years to come. Ideally, I would like all students to have the option. Standing up increases students' involvement in their classes. Standing while in class improves learning outcomes just as exercise does. In addition, it helps in other ways. Too much sitting is bad for everybody and can lead to harmful effects such as back pain, neck pain, and heart disease. Please help me improve my students' health and engagement by contributing to my project.
