Students with visual impairments often miss out on learning that is incidental and need specific instruction to fill any gaps. They are taught the Expanded Core Curriculum to address these needs. Independent Living Skills is one area of the ECC that students need to know to be successful, independent adults. Learning something as simple as sewing on a button or mending a hole in clothing requires specialized instruction and tools. These materials will help my students learn skills to become more independent and self-sufficient. They will use the materials to learn how to care for their clothing and create their own quilt and pillows.
