These A Little SPOT books will provide children the opportunity to read and immerse themselves into each emotion, skill, or trait presented in one of the 28 different books. Through storytelling and literature, adults will be able to support children and help them understand and cope with their emotions. The A Little SPOT books will be available school-wide but maintained and managed by one of the school social workers. Classroom wide lessons can be taught easily by the classroom teacher and/or the school social worker. Targeted lessons will be provided as tier 2 and tier 3 interventions through small groups or individual lessons based on classroom and student needs. The educator guide was created adhering to Common Core standards and CASEL: Effective Social-Emotional Learning Programs.
