  • Create an Ancient Civilization

    Funded Mar 26, 2025

My students are so exited to be able to display their creativity and artistic talent with these boards. When they create their own civilization they will be able to represent all the elements within history and have fun rather than just typing out an essay. They will be able to draw pictures, print photos and make it their own.”

  • Standard Classroom Supplies

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you so much for your donations! My students have been able to collaborate on. assignments. They have all the supplies they need to be successful. I'm happy to be able to pass out extra pencils as needed! We recently created posters showcasing the four empires of ancient Mesopotamia and students were able to add their artistic eye using all the colors of the rainbow instead of only using pencil and crayon.

My students were so grateful for the new classroom supplies! I also have a group of students who come into my class and I was able to make table caddy's for the groups to have access to supplies and feel welcome. They feel like they belong because they have materials that belong to them when they come in.

Our next group project will be about ancient Egypt, and I'm glad we won't have to rely on technology to share slidesX but we will be able to make 3D models using clay and paint.”

  • Scaffolding Supports

    Funded Dec 22, 2023

My students have been able to learn more about ancient china and Egypt with the resources purchased with your generous donations. They have had hands on experiences for excavation as well and a fun and unique way to learn definitions of key terms for the units we are learning.

Some students have a difficult time with reading text books so having shorter passages that are specific and to the point we need has been helpful for all students.

Our math curriculum is also very wordy and we have been and to use supplements to get the basic concepts the curriculum is trying to teach so students are so much more successful since they know how to solve the problems prior to working in their workbook.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barrios

  • Hatchet Novel study

    Funded Aug 10, 2023

While reading Hatchet with my class, we learned important vocabulary, analyzed text and characters. Our culminating project incorporated all these elements as well as math and art.

Before reading each chapter we reviewed important vocabulary for students to successfully comprehend the story. We had frequent check ins with questioning and critical thinking. Students took turns reading aloud and following along, pausing to think and reflect on their reading.

For our culminating project, students created a dodecahedron with all the information they gathered throughout the book. Overall, my students enjoyed reading classic and were able to have access to high order thinking questions to expand their knowledge and encourage novel reading.”

  • Imagination Creation

    Funded Mar 27, 2023

Students have loved engineering a variety of tasks such as the ones photographed. Students were tasked with building a Teuxture, and did a fabulous job working together to build these awesome structures. My student love Lego's for building and we're so excited to receive this kit and begin stem challenges in the classroom using these tools. I will continue to use these for stem challenges as well as earned free time to be creative and explore student thinking. By allowing my students this time for creativity, the are being primed to come into class with a clear and open mind about learning thinking and collaborating. Thank you so much!”

  • Social Emotional Books and Organization

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Some lessons I was able to incorporate into my classroom using these books was never giving up, taking turns, kindness, and so much more! My students now have access to social emotional books that I can reference whenever a student is displaying a specific behavior. We create small groups to do a book study to read, learn and share thinking as well as whole group calm body time listening to a story. The books are proudly displayed around the room and students are able to easily access them. As soon as I put the books on the shelf, a couple girls immediately picked one and read it together! I love how a great story can bring people together who otherwise, may have never played together! Thank you for helping this amazing opportunity for my student to learn more about their feelings and words to use to be able to describe them!”

  • Hands-On Math Fun

    Funded Oct 14, 2022

We are using these amazing resources in small group centers. The students have been loving using these hands on materials. I have been teaching each game to partners, the have the partners all rotate with different students to teach one another how to play the different games. Teaching their peers how to play the games help reinforce their own math practice.

When my students first saw the resources they were so excited! They love that they were the first people to use these materials and help set up the different games to be reused over and over for more students in the future. Since we had these resources do tarde they feels so special because they were a gift for them and not just something I had to purchase for my classroom with the limited funds I have.

Our next steps will be when we get into the next unit in math. Once we move out of basic operations, we will be able to utilize the place value, measurement, geometry and other games. I have had students who are working above where we are use the games for extension to practice new skills we have not yet covered as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barrios

  • 1st Grade Learning Fun!

    Funded Sep 2, 2022

Thank you so much for the generous donation! My students are using these resources everyday. We begin our morning with the calendar. Having the space to be able to not only show the date using the calendar, but being able to just move in a straight fluid line to say the date aloud with the class has been phenomenal! The students have also been enjoying the number of the day and exploring the word problems relating to our everyday life. My students are beginning to know the days of the week and how to use ten frames along with place value. When my students first saw the new resources they were screaming for joy! They loved the new set up in the classroom and the addition to our morning routines. My next steps are to have students utilize the resources in a center rotation fashion. They will be able to manipulate the pieces and build their own equations.”

  • Wonder Novel Study

    Funded May 5, 2022

My students were so engaged throughout the entire book! The loved how the book went over various characters points of views, and we often paused and discussed a prior characters perspective of the same thing that had happened. They loved it! My students Al created flip books with comprehension questions, character trait profiles, and many other aspects.

For this book, we read in whole group. At the beginning, I read to the students until one was brave enough to take the stand! After that first students sat in the teacher chair in the front of the room the rest of the students were dying to do the same! They never wanted to stop reading this amazing book.

After reading the book, we watched the movie and we're able to create a compare and contract of the book and movie. The students mostly enjoyed the book more than the movie. Thank you for all your help in getting my students to love reading!”

  • I Can! Math Manipulatives

    Funded May 3, 2022

Next week we begin state testing. We have been using these resources as a fun and engaging test prep between the worksheets and online platform. Students have been able to use the manipulatives to solve the math equations successful. They have been very engaged and loved the variety of tools included in each can.

My students are pretty exhausted from the math this year. They were very excited to find out we had a new resource to incorporate into our daily schedule. We have been working in small groups with the tasks cards and manipulatives. Each day students use a different can to practice a new math concept.

My next steps will be to assign students specific cans and groups to practice the specific content they need support in using data from assessments given in the classroom. We have exit tickets for students to show a quick "what we learned". Students who are struggling with certain concepts can continue practicing those concepts with the can manipulatives and task cards so everyone is able to work and learn at their own pace without being left behind and moving on.”

These materials will help my students get hands on experiences while learning about physical science in the classroom. They will be able to build simple machines, experiment with magnets and electricity and forces and motion. Reading books about these various aspects does not get retained the same as if students are able to physically move and build parts to see the electricity and magnetism occurring in real life. My class has not had the opportunity to have hands on science labs in the classroom and I would be able to reuse these resources year after year.
