SpecialEducation Support
Funded Mar 3, 2021The iPad I've received has helped my students in numerous ways. Most importantly, I've been using it for small group pullout activities for students who are struggling to grasp academic material. I'm able to pull up activities and examples that I've created for them using Google Slides on the iPad. It has allowed for the small group setting to be more interactive - it has even helped some of my students focus more! I've also used it to break down material for my students during open activities; I am able to pre-prepare vocabulary or highlighted phrases for my struggling learners as they analyze and dissect literature. It's also easy to bring from classroom to classroom or from student to student, rather than lugging my computer around the building!
Additionally, we were able to use the iPad to film and edit our school's National Junior Honor Society video, and now our students can have a covid-safe ceremony!
The mini printer has been helpful for many of my students. I'm able to pre-print vocabulary, sentence starters, or short response outlines with it. It's small enough that the printed modifications for students don't feel overwhelming, and at the same time, they are utilizing the resources I am creating for them!
Lastly, the cricut has endless possibilities, and it has helped us create a welcoming home for our students. Moreover, we are able to use it to label and organize our special needs learners, which is helpful for their transitions back into the school building, as well as from day to day!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Guerra
