We have the greatest students at our school who are eager to learn and grow. Like many communities, our students have not been immune to the effects of the pandemic over the past two years. The uncertainty and unpredictability has taken a toll and we have seen an increase in student anxiety and decreased focus and attention. The tools and materials we have requested will assist our general education classroom teachers, special education teachers, social worker, and support staff with helping students to manage their big emotions and regulate themselves to better be able to focus and learn. We will create multi-sensory Calm Down Kits for classrooms, including fidgets, putty, bubbles, and supplies to make handmade weighted lap pillows.
