Hello! I am a first year 5th grade teacher. With teaching virtually for most of this year, I have not had the opportunity to create a classroom library that would help to enrich knowledge and foster a love of reading for my students. Soon, we will be returning back to the classroom and I want to ensure that I can create an environment to promote a love of learning and help students to transcend to different realms as they read. By creating a library filled with language-rich titles, students will be able to travel and discover new topics and new worlds that they might not have discovered before. By creating a classroom library, I wish to create a safe space, where students can explore the world around them, without having to leave home. I would love to provide students with an opportunity to read a variety of books from different genres, authors and topics to help widen their horizons and help them to find what topics they are interested in.
