My students will develop skill-building practice with journals that help them develop reading comprehension skills—day by day! These magnificent journals are designed to help them meet key standards in grades 2-3. It features 35 weeks of daily comprehension activities that would encourage them to think critically about what they are reading. My students will read engaging fiction or nonfiction passages at the beginning of the week, then complete a different activity each day to deepen their understanding of the text. These journals will also help them prepare for the English Language Proficiency Assessment for California or ELPAC. This important assessment is used to identify and monitor EL students' progress toward English language proficiency. My students will feel a sense of confidence and will successfully reclassify.
