Our goal is to provide a safe space for teachers, students, parents, and other F.A.S. stakeholders to have conversations about issues related to improving the educational experience of our black students, so that true equity is the standard for all. We aim to be change agents, working towards the integration of black history into the curriculum at F.A.S. and all Newark schools. As a team, our goal is to provide ongoing opportunities to confront our own biases and expand our knowledge about addressing educational and racial disparities. Our hope is that with this new mindset, our school, our community, and our city will then be more inclusive; becoming a space where all, especially our students, experience educational as well as racial equity.
