This is a project for our first Musical! Students are so excited to create the environment for the Musical, "Into The Woods". Set design in theatre requires many tools and many hands in order to bring the world of the play to life. Students will be using materials to build trees to create the forest environment for the characters to travel through. Students will learn how to analyze the script from a set design perspective. The trees will be constructed from left over wood (2x4's) that the theatre department already has and the new drills. Students will be using the butcher paper, spray foam and hot glue to create the bark of the trees. The butcher paper will be crumpled and the spray foam gives a lot of texture. The trees will be very light weight to allow for easy movement. We will be using the acrylic paint to give some dimension of color.
