Empowerment for first generational graduates. Enlightment on funding for college, exposure to college life style though they may not be able to attend in person, motivation for those that may not be motivated self-esteem wise. Receive insight from others that may have had similar barriers that they have overcome as a result of college exposure. Learn about summer internships/mentorships. Enhancing social/emotional awareness. Student and parental involvement. Community Involvement and incentives, learn about the importance of giving back to the community through volunteering and participating in civic opportunities- Upstanding citizens. Though my students are from an array of backgrounds/cultures that are considered low-income households, it is my desire to provide them the necessary exposure that would allow them to become a very productive citizen in such competitive society!
