Hands-on materials and projects are a more engaging way to learn. It can lead to increased retention, offers practice in problem-solving, and improved critical thinking skills. Working hands-on often results in a physical creation that the students have a sense of accomplishment. Being able to provide a sense of wonder to explore and captivate the students is a key to success. Students will be given the opportunity to work hands-on with the Simple Machines and building materials for science and social studies. The VersaTiles for math will allow students to self-check for independence while keeping them engaged and learning. This approach will improve their communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and to meet their individual needs.
