Help give my students the ultimate small group experience. Our small group area in our classroom is something that gets used daily in our classroom. COVID-19 has placed a lot of restrictions on how guided reading/small groups can run. Every minute counts because we don't have a lot of time in each group. Small groups is a key component for our students to create those aha moments! The best way to create those moments is by having a space that the students feel is safe and inviting and organized in a way to set the students up for success. I want to make my students excited to come to the small group table by giving them the option for flex seating! I also want my students to take responsibility in their learning and set up a system where they are responsible for keeping up with their supplies needed for small group time. We work on ELA and Math at our small group table everyday! A variety of supplies are needed in order to make our groups run smoothly. The students are not allowed to come to the carpet because of COVID-19 rules, so it's hard for the students to see when we are doing a read-aloud. A document camera and monitor would be useful so I can put it up on the board so all students can see easily. Clip boards and dry erase sleeves can be used for the students during independent and station work.
