Funded Dec 8, 2022My students were incredibly excited to get all the new merchandise for our in school gift shop. They worked on sorting the items, stocking the shelves, labeling the items and shelves. They took weekly inventory to restock the shelves. With the multitude of items provided they were able to practice the skills for weeks. they money made from selling the items came right back to the program.
Have the items allowed the students to also practice customer service skills as well as money skills in using a cash register. So many skills were gained in a real life manner rather than just an in class simulation.
With the proceeds from the items sold we paid for community based instruction activities such as visiting stores to see how stocking and inventory is done in an actual store. We also enjoyed enrichment activities such as museum admissions.
I am so very grateful for the opportunity my students were afforded by this kind and generous donation. You gave our students with disabilities an opportunity to grow and flourish and for that I am so thankful.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Maruja Gonzalez
