  • Flexible Seating for Flexible Learning

    Funded Jan 17, 2022

My class absolutely loved the flexible seating options! They were so excited when things were getting delivered and everyone wanted to try out all the options. The wobble stool particularly really helped one specific student work on his stamina for remaining seated, and by the end of the year, was sitting safely in a standard chair without tipping it for the same duration as his peers.

All the materials were so well loved and respected that everything is in great condition for the new school year to come, so your generous donation will continue to make an impact on future students as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. David

  • Creating Our Calm Corner

    Funded Aug 20, 2021

My students have loved our comfort corner materials! They have been so helpful for students when they feel anxious or sad during the school day to self-regulate and get back to learning.

We truly appreciate your generosity in helping us get these materials so that my students can have a safe, calm, experience returning back to school. Especially since many hadn't been in a school setting since Kindergarten, these tools were necessary so that they felt like they had a way to calm themselves down in moments of stress or upset.

In donating, you have helped these students feel safe at school which is such a gift.”

  • Set Up Little Learners for Big Success!

    Funded Feb 17, 2021

Our preschoolers benefitted so much from your kindness and generosity! We used whiteboards as magnet boards for learning to write their names, and used them as a way to show their thinking during math. By the end of the year, many of our kindergarten-bound friends were adding and subtracting, writing their answer on a whiteboard, and waiting to flip it to show their friends and teachers their thinking! This is a procedure that will be done in every grade to follow and I am so glad that these materials helped them learn these routines so that they may be successful moving forward. They additionally loved the sensory experience of writing on the whiteboards so much that "whiteboard time" became a much loved center for drawing. I know that these high-quality materials will last for years thanks to your support :)”

  • One Week Down, Lots More Learning to Go!

    Funded Feb 28, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity! Our preschoolers loved the flexible seating options and we used the wobble cushions every day to help focus during story time. They could not get enough of them and were always asking if it was a choice to sit on during the day. Thanks to your help, our littlest learners were able to maintain social distancing while not being confined to desks which helped make learning developmentally appropriate and far more engaging! Organizational supplies also kept all of our materials clean and organized which is essential as it was our home for a whole year! I cannot thank you enough for your help :)”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. David

The materials requested in this project will go towards setting up my preschool classroom to be a safe, welcoming space built for learning this year and for years to come. Remote students and families have been incredibly flexible, using sheet protectors or other materials as whiteboards and finding different items at home to use as blocks. As students are returning, our classroom lacks hands-on materials like 3D shape blocks and whiteboards that can be easily sanitized. Everything was intentionally chosen to help us achieve socially distanced success, however, they are all materials that can and will be used for years to come. Preschool is a students' first introduction to the wonders of school and learning, and our littlest minds will grow tremendously with these hands-on materials. I believe that our littlest learners deserve equal access to these materials and by providing each student with a real, durable whiteboard, it would communicate to families that their little one's learning is valuable. Having choice of how to do their work--standing, seated at their desk or on the floor with their wobble cushion--will help students feel comfortable, independent and able to take ownership of their learning. The floor dots will also allow them to move safely throughout their routines, fully understanding the expectations of where to stand in line or at recess. These tools will help students immensely as they navigate the physical classroom space with confidence.
