Since the pandemic, my school had to continue through remote learning. Zoom is not the same as an in-person classroom experience, especially with the difficulty of seeing your students. A monitor will be a great help and resolve the many issues faced with teaching remotely. When I screen share to annotate on the worksheet, I no longer see the chat box, participant box, and most importantly my students. This definitely affects the learning of my students, as I may not see a question in the chat on time, or am unable to "read the room" throughout the lesson. Seeing my students' faces is important for their learning. Facial expressions give away hints of struggles, questioning, and enlightenment. I use this as another way to know who to address, what to ask for discussion, when to pause, and what to do next. With a second screen (monitor), I will be able to see the chat box for questions and discussion, see the participant box for attendance, continue sharing the screen to annotate, and most importantly see all of my students.
