This is a collaborative project between school therapists and special education staff to provide hands on, functional activities of daily living opportunities to students within the school and community settings. Creating “real world” experiences for students allows them to gain communication and motor skills in the context in which they will be used. Students will increase their communication and motor abilities while participating in activities such as cooking, yard maintenance and managing money or schedules. Recreational activities such as learning and playing yard games or planning a party round out the group experience for increasing their communication and motor skills for both academics and a well-balanced life. I am interested in obtaining more equipment to assist us with the life experiences and any assistance is greatly appreciated. These students will benefit greatly from your generosity!
