Funded Nov 18, 2022I would once again like to share my overwhelming sense of gratitude for everything you did to put the biggest smiles on the faces of lots of amazing learners and a very happy speech teacher. When I showed the kids all the colorful art supplies they ran over with excitement and each expressed gratitude and excitement in their own way.
The supplies came just in time for the holiday season. As you will see in the picture, the kids had a paired mini lesson about thanksgiving ing and made their own turkey craft. They were very engaged and were able to step outside the box to create their own special turkey. Some of the students required hand over hand prompts, while others let their imaginations run wild. As messy as my room got, I knew that the paired mini lesson was a success. My students are visual learners and learn best through deferent modalities.
I allowed my students to further explore the art supplies to see how they can work together to come up with our next project. I was so happy to see even they shy and quiet ones participating. My goal was to promote different forms of expression when pairing art activities with my lessons. We have just started and I can already see a difference in the social interaction, engagement, and verbal and non verbal expression. Even though my students are not writing yet, their happy faces are a great display of gratitude. Once again, we thank you, appreciate you, and wish you a very happy holiday season.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Alba
