Funded Sep 20, 2022Thank you for your support. Since the tables have been donated, along with the headphones, our class has changed. My students with disabilities can learn from the carpet while having something to write on. The tables are not only helpful, it eliminated the awkward sitting-position on the carpet, where my students had to either write in their notebook on the floor or on their knees. The table gives them something to write on while sitting on the carpet in a "criss-cross" sitting position. It can be overwhelming to have them learn from the carpet and then send them back to the table. And then send them back to the carpet to learn a different subject and then back to their tables. Students with disabilities, especially individuals with Autism can be easily distracted. This allows all of the moment to be eliminated!
The headphones are a huge hit! Our school usually do not have the budget to buy technology, yet we have online lessons that the kids have to complete, such as I-ready and education.com. Now each and every one of my student have their very own headphone that they can use. (We used to rotate 2-3 headphones last year.)
Thank you! I hope you understand how thankful my students are!
Take care'”
With gratitude,
Mr. Joe Huot
