I teach my 7th and 8th graders the skill of web development that can transpose into a certification directly out of high school should they not be able to attend college. This gives lower socioeconomic students the opportunity to make a living and not have to struggle or try to find a way to pay for a college degree should this not be an option or a possibility because they cannot function in a traditional classroom setting. HTML and CSS can transpose into certification with a median income of $70k a year. This allows students who typically do not have motivation in traditional classes to feel like they have something they can achieve to not struggle their whole lives. This also appeals to students who do not learn in a traditional manner to feel like they will not be "stuck" in school or that college is the only option. I need a secondary monitor to be able to see the Code.org website for lesson content, the students' screens if they require support, and Google Meet for other students or projects simultaneously as has proven to be necessary from teaching this curriculum last year and last semester.
