This year, we are focusing on creating differentiated mathematical experiences for our students. The math manipulative library will provide the resources we need in order to experience math in a variety of ways. In lower elementary, math is centered around hands on learning to build a strong math foundation. The use of counters, linking cubes and building blocks will help students use numbers in a concrete way. The dice and dominoes will provide opportunities for our class to explore low floor, high ceiling math tasks. These tools will help shape the mathematical minds of 30 curious second graders.
