Every year in my WRI 121 course, students are asked to write an informational essay, and then create a multimodal project based on that essay. Sometimes those projects are podcasts (hence the microphones) and sometimes they are videos (hence the greenscreen and studio equipment). While we have some of these materials at school, oftentimes they are heavily restricted, so it would be nice to have our own class set. Students have been successful with this project in the past, and I think these items will make them even more successful in the future. This project also includes supplemental reading for my other literature and composition courses.
