  • Cozy Creative Compassionate Contemplation & Collaboration!

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

YOU DID IT! You helped fully fund this project today. I expect the materials before Winter Break. As they arrive, I will post unboxing photos and organize them. We shall utilize and take photos of them in use.

The students are excited. I am grateful.

    Your generosity is highly appreciated.”

  • Flexibility & Mental Health in the WLounge

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

Your contribution to my summer fundraiser has allowed my students to feel more comfortable in class. They use the flexible seating every day, and the lap desks and clipboards help make that seating more efficient.

I also have two study hall sessions that meet in my room. At this point, I usually have at least 5-7 extra people NOT on my roster that come to sit with their friends in the room. These students are spread out around the room using the flexible seating.

And finally, my students often come during their own lunch study sessions to hang in my classroom. I am certain the comfortable seating adds to their reasons.”

  • Miscellaneous Extras

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

My students have been using the materials you funded quite often. The Dungeons & Dragons Club uses the Dice Trays and the D&D Book EVERY SINGLE WEEK. The metallic pens have been used in my classroom for several assignments.

I have included photos of the students using the dice trays and examples of the assignments that used the metallic pens. The pens have been used in Frankenstein monster quotes and Sweet/Tart Heart quotes for Valentine's Day.

I look forward to using all of these materials through out the end of the school year.

Thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • Let's Roll!

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Your donations have provided our club members the opportunity to play D&D with their own first set of dice. This may not seem like much. However, these dice sets can range from $3 a set with a sky's limit on price. This game revolves around these dice. And, many people showcase bits of their personalities with their dice collections.

Later DonorsChoose projects allowed for us to purchase dice trays to use during games. This allows them to use the dice without them rolling off the table to the floor.

This fundraiser even allowed us to offer the school's vice principal and principal their own set of dice when they showed up to learn and play the game.

So thank you very much for your donation. We look forward to our weekly games and using our dice.”

  • Curious Crafts for Curious Kids!

    Funded Jun 19, 2023

Three days into our extended school year program, your generous donations were being utilized. My students created fuse bead projects and mosaics.

By the end of the program, students made many more things. Every single day we had an art station. Oftentimes, we had multiple times at the art station, AND students chose to go back to the art station during their free time. Students made so many things. The supplies you helped purchase were used EVERY DAY. Thank you so much for your help.

    I will post photographs.”

  • Maps & Minis - Oh My!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your help with this fundraiser! The D&D Club is off to slay dragons and explore dungeons! Much of these materials are being used right now.

The photos show us using the battle maps and dungeon master screens. We use those maps to track where characters are in relation to each other and the enemies, animals, monsters, and other miscellaneous nonplayer characters they encounter during their gameplay. The dungeon master screens allow the dungeon master to keep all their rolls a mystery, lay out all their character and monster sheets for easy access, AND the screens give many important statistics on player and nonplayer activity.”

  • Super Supplies

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you again for the extra supplies. The students and I have made great use of them.

The reams of paper help me create neater and easier-to-read bulletin boards. Title cards and anchor charts are useful and eye-catching. The newest members of the D&D club now have dice to use while playing the game. The lined sticky notes were used to highlight quotes and other odd do-now questions.

Looking ahead to the rest of the year, the students will continue to use the sticky notes for research projects. More anchor charts will be created. And the D&D club will continue to play every week.”

  • Is It Noise or Is It Conversation?

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Many of the products from this fundraiser have ALREADY been put to use. Every day students use the Composition Notebook Journals with Rainbow Spines to jot down their Do Nows, Notes, and Exit Tickets. To write in those Journals, they use the Shuttle Art 120 Unique Colors Gel Pens Set.

My classroom has only one magnetic wall. So the Scotch Removable Wall Mounting Tabs are INVALUABLE for hanging up anchor charts, posters, etc. And this fundraiser helped me order many of those, too! I am in the process of spacing them out on the walls.

I will be uploading photos of all these and more products in use by the students. Thank you so much for helping make my class more tactile and interactive.”

  • Basics Booster

    Funded Aug 4, 2022

So far, my students are using many of the items purchased by this fundraiser. Every day, students are using the Hercules Tuff Charging Station for their phones. The students are beginning to use the Discussion Starters to help broaden class discussions. We fluffed up our bean bags with the Big Joe Bean Refills. The students were very excited to see the bean bags fully stuffed!

The Teacher Created Resources Foam: Reading Comprehension Cubes came in handy when we read Frankenstein. I used the Crayola Washable Window Crayons to assign each class period a window. They used lined sticky notes to create comprehension questions for each other. Then they placed those on the window. The next day, each student chose someone's question to answer as a Do Now. The Smead Cascading Wall Organizer holds news articles the students are using for their non-fiction research projects.

Coming up soon, the students will use the Teacher Created Resources Foam Nonfiction Comprehension Cubes to further their understanding of the news articles being used for their research project. And I anticipate they will use the June Gold Assorted Colored Dry Erase Whiteboard Markers to keep track of how many articles they have used and hopefully challenge each other to read more.”

  • Brain Fuel Box - Refill!

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

The students were very excited about the Brain Fuel Box - Refill!! We almost made it to the end of the year with the snacks this fundraiser provided. Most of them seemed to respect the "one-snack-per-day" rule.

Next year, I expect we will run one fundraiser per marking period. The students REALLY liked the Takis and Oreo cookies. So, those will definitely be a repeat next year. Surprisingly, even the healthier snacks were a hit!

Thank you again for your help this year. I wish you and all my students and happy and safe summer vacation.”

The Literature Lounge will be an escape hatch into a world to connect with characters and themes from across the ages. Why must reading literature always be so uncomfortable? During the pandemic while social distancing is required, the students may take the bean bag chairs anywhere in the classroom. After the danger passes, they will also be allowed to use these bean bag chairs in a provided reading nook. This will provide a lounge for small group discussions with comfortable and cozy seating. Hopefully, my students will connect with the texts and each other.
