Distance learning, in general, is very hard for special education students. These counting materials will continue to enhance their fine motor in the classroom that I strive to create. Family dynamics will change to more face-to-face time and less electronic attention-getters because of these hands-on support manipulatives. Whether engaged in learning with the teacher virtually or purposeful play with their families, my special education students will develop counting skills that will enhance their readiness needs. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in counting, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with numbers and learn the counting skills that these special education students need when they are in the community.
