As a school social worker, I work with children on improving their social skills and enhancing their learning experience through accommodations in the classroom. Children with ADHD and Autism benefit from access to accommodations such as Fidget tools in the classroom to enhance their learning and to assist them in staying focused in the classroom. These are very important in order to meet their motor and sensory needs where they are sitting thus decreasing distractions and wandering around the classroom during teacher instruction. Through funding my project, I will create these Fidget Kits to be located in each classroom for students to access and contributing their academic success.
