Educational Resources
Funded Aug 28, 2021My students are creative and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! My students come to school each day ready to learn. They are a pleasure to work with. The teacher pay teacher gift card helped me purchase writing differentiated materials that help support all writing levels. Many of students are behind in their writing because of the pandemic. We are trying our best to get our students where they need to be. These resources will help. Thank you again and god bless.”

Funded Aug 12, 2021Many first graders will came into school for the first time due to the pandemic. I want to provide engaging materials for my students to help them become better readers. With these exciting match-ups, children master CVC words one phoneme at a time! Kids select a word card and touch the textured dots as they say each sound. Then they read the full word—and find its matching picture card! These activities will help students build up to 300 words. The hands-on flipbooks help students match letters, blends, and digraphs with ending sounds. The students were engaged during the lesson and showed growth with blending sounds to read words. Thank you again for supporting my classroom.”

Funded May 3, 2021Thank you for helping me getting math manipulative toolboxes for my students. It is hard to provide tools for every student in the classroom, especially during this time that we are in a pandemic. The materials are used everyday in my classroom. The toolbox provides support for my kinesthetic and visual learners. The toolbox offers lots of hands-on experience with everything from counting and base 10 to comparing numbers and building shapes. I can't wait to use them in the classroom. Thank you again :)”

Know it, Show it
Funded Mar 11, 2021I want to start by thanking all who contributed to my classroom. Your donation has made our calendar lesson more engaging and educational. I have incorporated many skills during calendar time. Successful calendar routines are more than just singing the days of the week and the months of the year. This help gives students a tiny bit of practice every day and helps build their number sense as they apply their number into different formats and math applications.
I start the year walking through my calendar routine slowly with my students in a group and then gradually give them more ownership as the year goes on by having my Student of the Day complete portions as their morning work. Then we just briefly run through it together.
Last year, I taught first grade, and my students enjoyed the benefit from the project funded through donor's choice. This project will be used every year in my classroom. I am currently teaching the first-grade ICT. My students are full of energy, and they are always ready to learn. My students are audio and visual learners.
The calendar has a different theme for every month, and it also has patterns. Not only are the students learning about days of the week, but they are also learning many math skills. The students are learning their numbers as well as place values. The students love participating in this activity. The students are always ready to engage during calendar time because it is very kid-friendly. The students always look forward to seeing the following pattern.
In this project, I also received a wrack that I organized students' materials for math. For example, the wrack holds re-teach, on-level, enrichment sheets, assessments, and exit tickets. The materials are organized and are easy to access. Each tray is labeled. A classroom must be scheduled to run successfully. The students also have access to the materials, and they are easy to access. The trays are also color-coded to make it easy for students to retrieve their materials. The color-coded trays provide support for students that struggle with reading the labels.
In this project, I also received a timer clock. The timer clock helps us manage our time throughout the day. Many students struggle with keeping focus, and the timer has allowed them to pace their work. For example, the students will look at the clock and know there are another 5 minutes before the break. Many students are visual learners in my classroom, and the clocks aid visual learning and provide support for students who need time management to prevent behaviors in the school.
I am thankful to Donors Choose for organizing this website to help teachers get funding to purchase materials to support students in achieving their reachable goals. I am also grateful to all who donated to my classroom. It is heartwarming to know that there are people from all over the world that believe and want to support teachers and students. Many schools struggle with getting funds that are necessary for the school to be successful.”
