Story retelling is a very complex skill for children to master. It is a very important skill because it aids in comprehension and understanding of the text read aloud, imagination and connection to the text. These story retelling kits will aid students in bringing read alouds to life through the priceless skill of retelling. These eleven books are classic texts that are student favorites. These kits will give students stuffed cotton pieces with charming stitched on visuals and a story retelling boards for easy retelling. Hands on activities are the best way to aid in students learning and in turn increase students understanding and achievement. I plan to read the story, model story retelling process and let the students have a chance to use the materials to retell the story in a small group or in pairs. My virtual students can engage in these materials by watching our online zooms and retelling along with us.
