  • Every Animal Needs an Ecosystem!

    I can not thank you enough for what you have done for my students here at Lanier High School. They now have a chance to view and explore different parts of the body and animal anatomy, sparking multiple and future interests in different career paths. Most of my students have never and will never experienced anything like this hands on and they are very excited to dive into this dissection world. I can not thank you enough for the opportunities that my students and future students are about to embark on and experience.”

    This classroom project was brought to life by SONIC Drive-In and 5 other donors.
We have an upcoming unit on Ecosystems and Biomes. In this unit students will learn about animal habitats, an energy flow from food webs, food chains, and energy pyramids. It is important for students to learn about different animal behaviors and habitats, to help understand the other organisms in the environment and to compare with their own. To help explain this to my students and provide them with a real world learning experience, I am requesting two tanks, dome lights, and a heating pad to house our classroom pets (baby ball python and baby bearded dragon). Due to the pandemic, a lot of our students are not able to travel and experience a real zoological park. The materials will help me to provide that experience for them.
