  • Help Fuel Hungry High Schoolers!

    Funded Sep 23, 2024

Thank you so much. My students love snacks! The students are highly motivated by food, and I am able to provide them with more choices since they are constantly hungry. We have been using the snacks as needed, during tutoring, and recreation.

When the students aren't hungry, they can focus on learning. The snacks boosts their energy levels and they are more engaged in classroom activities. Having snacks encourages concentration and re-energizes tired students.

We've had some cold snaps this winter and as you can tell by the photos, my students look forward to a warm cup of soup.”

  • Building Community Through Game Play and Social Interactions

    Funded Jan 20, 2024

With your generous donation, I collaborated with other advisors at my school to hold a "Game Day." My students now had a reason to look away from their phone screens, to be present and actively engage in the moment with the people around them. As you can see in the photos, having these materials provides them the opportunity to express themselves through friendly competition and laughter.

Students were so thrilled to come into the classroom with a full table of game options. As students engaged in their games, they talked and laughed with each other while I took photos. It was such a warm and lovely scene and sweet memory. The students crave hands-on activities and games are a great way to get them engaged in a very casual, low-stakes way. Thank you so much for making this "Game Day" possible!"”

    Funded Jun 28, 2023

Thank you so much for your support and help in contributing to my project. I appreciate your support and donation. I am excited to use the resources your donation made possible in my class. My students and I are thankful for the colorful and engaging lessons. You have helped this year start off so strong! We have been able to buy academic, social emotional, and collaborative projects for us to work on in class! I was able to create a variety of engaging lessons for my students that were more visual and tactile creative stations.

Thank you again for your support and encouragement. I am very grateful.”

  • Healthy Snacks for Inquisitive Minds

    Funded Jan 1, 2023

Thank you so much. My students love snacks! The students are highly motivated by food, and I am able provide them with more choices since they are constantly hungry and don't necessarily have access to healthier food options when not at school. We have been using the snacks as needed and as rewards.

When the students aren't hungry, they can focus on learning. The snacks boosts their energy level for learning and they are more engaged in classroom activities. Having healthy snacks encourages concentration and re-energizes tired students.

Thank You so much for nourishing their minds.”

  • Seamless Learning!

    Funded May 5, 2022

This iPad mini, paired with an Apple Pencil, allows me to demonstrate step-by-step how to draw economics graphs to my students and annotate dense texts. This is especially helpful for my students with special needs and helps with our analysis of primary documents, which may include texts, images, or diagrams. In addition, I use various colors to identify important information. This is hugely important for our visual learners. Furthermore, the ability to virtually hand write any comments directly on students' work in the margin and with various colors gives both students and me the feeling of normalcy.

For economics, students who are on the receiving end of this technology boost, appreciate the ease of seeing how I draw and explain the rationale of the shapes and changes in the graphs. The multicolor function on the iPad is crucial to the complicated monopoly graphs with government tax and externalities. The beautifully and accurately colored graph stands in sharp contrast to the previous graphs that I drew using a mouse. The dynamics of colors also help students remember the graph better.

In sum, this iPad tremendously increases the quality of teaching and learning. Thank you!”

  • Can You See and Hear Me Now?

    Funded Jan 25, 2022

Thank you so much for your support in our classroom. It was such a wonderful experience to be fully back together in person in the school building and the classroom. All of our students properly wear masks and practice social distance. The voice amplifier you funded helped our classroom tremendously as students can hear me loud and clear even with the mask on. My colleagues saw me teaching and asked me where to get the same voice amplifier. As students walk into the classroom, they sanitize their hands with the wipes. The convenience nudges many students to continue practicing this aspect of personal hygiene. Thank you for helping make this school year go smoothly and effectively!”

  • Educating Global Citizens

    Funded Dec 10, 2021

Thank you for supporting not only our literacy efforts but the quest to engender genuine curiosity and a love of lifelong learning. Having access to a variety of books in our classroom designed to provide perspectives from diverse backgrounds of numerous identities expands my students' worlds with additional opportunities to continue their growth.

In a world that is very individualistic and where many of our online interactions are secretly mediated by algorithms that serve to narrow our points of view, it becomes even more imperative that students seek out different voices and are introduced to stories that enable them to broaden their perspectives through understanding others. I believe these books have helped increase empathy among my students.

Overall, my students were excited to get new books, and many of them couldn't believe that they were able to keep them! Some students preferred the option to keep their books at school. Once again, thank you for your generosity. We appreciate what you've done for us!”

  • An Apple MacBook for Seamless Learning

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Thank you for funding this laptop for our classroom. During the Omicron surge in January and now with Covid cases rising again, this laptop has been indispensable in providing simultaneous remote instruction for students quarantining at home. I log into Zoom and turn on the share screen function so that quarantined students can hear me clearly and see what I write on the digital whiteboard. During non-quarantine time, I use this laptop to play multi-media resources for students to provide multiple access points to reinforce their learning. The fast speed on this laptop is crucial given our shorten instruction time under the staggered social distancing schedule. This is incredible! Thank you for making teaching and learning efficient and effective”

  • The Lesson Continues...Virtually

    Funded May 5, 2021

As you can see from the letters of gratitude from my students, your donation to provide them with a subscription to Study.com is helping them tremendously. As visual learners, they are able to go at their own pace, slow down, reply or re-watch as often as needed, as well as turn on close captioning. The pictures taken are examples of us using it as a part of a review lesson in the classroom.

In addition, your generous donation helps me to create engaging and fun lessons on google classroom. Interactive lessons keep my students motivated to learn and help them understand the necessity of learning how to use new technology. My students are excited about getting to complete classwork and homework assignments online, in groups, and independently.”
